An NYPD officer spotted a woman clinging to the pier in the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn, and he stayed with her until a Harbor Unit boar could reach the scene and pull her out of the water.
NYPD officers saved a woman who was trapped under a pier in Brooklyn on Tuesday.
Body camera footage was released of the rescue of the woman, who had become trapped underneath a pier in the Gowanus Canal, WPIX-TV reports. The woman was seen clinging to the pier, but she couldn't pull herself up out of the water.
An officer had spotted the woman and ran to the scene. He talked and stayed with her until a Harbor Unit boat could reach her.
The woman was rushed to the hospital and is expected to recover.
